My mum has had shoulder pain over the last few months which she has been to the doctors about numerous times. They sent her for X Ray's and said that they couldn't see what was wrong but suspected arthritis. The pain was getting worse and has now spread breast cancer research essay her arm so she went back again. The nurse felt her breast and sent her for a mammogram, breast cancer research essay. On Thursday, my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer that has spread to her lymph nodes.

This was the result of a biopsy that she'd had. At the minute we don't know if it has spread any further or what stage it is. All they have said is that the cells are a grade 3 - which I think means the worst and that they are aggressive?

She's got to go back on Thursday for some more results related to hormones, but I don't understand what that means. I'm guessing from this they can start the course of treatment. I'm worried that it has because the pain started in her shoulder - so there is a chance it could be in her bones.

Has anyone else ever had that? I don't want them to delay the start of the treatment but will that begin after the results of the CT scan which could potentially be a month away or will they start that immediately on Thursday? I feel at a loss as I want to help her all I can. She can't sleep, she's lost her appetite and she is worried sick.

I can't lose my mum I presume the hormone tests your mum is having is to see if her cancer is responsive to estrogen or not? I think it's classified as a 3 if it's spreading or has spread. I should imagine that's why your mum has been given a 3 because it's now in her nodes.

I know it must be a terrible shock for you and your mum, breast cancer research essay. It's normal for her breast cancer research essay feel the way she does,I didon't eat or sleep to begin with. A grade 3 means the cancer cell is highly breast cancer research essay that is very different from the normal breast cell. Grade 3 is an aggressive cancer it does not mean that it cannot be treated.

Reference to hormone treatment is perhaps the cell using hormones to grow. The grade of the cancer does not as far as I am aware relate to spread to lymphnodes. Once spread to nodes are noted especially more than 4 patients are automatically referred for scans etc.

I know this because I was treated for a grade 3 breast cancer with 4 out of 18 nodes affected. I had scans and thankfully no evidence of spread, breast cancer research essay. I had treatment and am now three years down the line. Cancer is a very frightening condition to have but it is treatable.

Your mum should only listen to the medical staff who are treating her. I hope all goes well for her. Listen to her and plenty of cuddles especially when treatment starts.

Take care, breast cancer research essay. Hi, thanks for the reply - it means a lot. Sorry to hear that you had to experience all of this Did you have to have chemo and surgery? So sorry your mum is going through this, it really is a worrying time for her as well as those close to her. I had operation to remove, 2 lumps as what i felt as 1 was in fact 2 very close together, I didn't have to have chemotherapy but start daily radiotherapy on Monday for 4 weeks.

My partner and sister went with me and he asked more than me as I was in such a state and in my experience they are breast cancer research essay so helpful and experienced and willing to talk to all concerned not just the patient.

Sending all the very best to you and your mum and I hope she receives only good positive news from now on. Because of the size of my lump they recommended chemo first to shrink it, then mastectomy then radio therapy. I had my 5th cycle out of 6 yesterday. Katy84, if you are concerned about your shoulder go and see your gp, it could be as a result of anxiety I had lots of aches and pains when I was being diagnosed, but at least you could put your mind at rest.

I've had a bad shoulder for months in the last week my arm pit started to hurt my sister has got over breast cancer 2years ago and I'm now really worried i can't feel Anything like lumps I'm really worried, I've got fibromyalgia and on daily pain relief but my shoulder and arm always hurt and now my arm pit not sure what to do im 40 and have a little boy who's almost 3 im so scared right now did ring doctors but no appointments so I have to ring up everyday to just get a call back. I too have pain in my arm pit and side of my breast it pulls o now have a painful shoulder can't find any lumps doctor couldn't find any and sent me away for a month it hasn't settled so now awaiting a two week emergency app for the clinic I'm really scared.

Although there is no lump I went to the gp last week and have been referred for an emergency appt to the breast clinic which has tomorrow morning, breast cancer research essay. im worried but also feel like a fraud as no lump and a friend said yesterday maybe it's just a muscle that's been pulled - I don't want to make something out of nothing but my breast hasn't felt right for months and now I sit wondering if I'm imagining it.

Hey I didn't have a lump just pain that went into my arm pit I had my app all was fine they checked with there hands and a scan xx, breast cancer research essay. You've made some good points. I totally agree. Everyone is different. Just listen to the doctors. Everyone's diagnosis is individual.

I was diagnosed with grade 2 breast cancer on 3 days ago. I'm still trying to get my head around it as I breast cancer research essay being treated for endometrial cancer. I just happened to have an annoying bruised feeling in the side of my breast.

I was told to get it checked after my womb treatment was finished. I decided to see my GP, breast cancer research essay. She found nothing that was of any concern but referred me as I already have a cancer and to appease me.

To cut a long story story short I have grade 2 breast cancer! Now I have 2 primary cancers at the same time. The hospital. now have to decide how to deal with both. The gp and Breast clinic were not concerned as it was just a breast cancer research essay but lo and behold it was something so thank god I didn't leave it until later.

Ive been so strong throughout my womb surgery etc but this has knocked me sideways. I'm so worried because I don't want it to detract from my womb chemo etc. At the moment I'm just waiting while they decide what to do next.

My chemo has been cancelled for womb cancer. Skip to main content. Post to forum. Search Search forum. Do you have a cancer chat password? Yes, I have a password. I hope you both soon have some more information from the hospital and a treatmwnt plan in place. Having something to focus on helps alot. thinking of you both Ness x. The results for the hormone tests came back today and they were negative.

Not sure breast cancer research essay that means at all. She has to go for a bone scan next week to check it hasn't spread to her bones as that's the place where the pain started.

Findings were classified into two outcomes of mental health: anxiety and depression. Social media activity such as time spent to have a positive effect on the mental health domain. However, due to the cross-sectional design and methodological limitations of sampling, there are considerable differences.

The structure of social media influences on mental health needs to be further analyzed through qualitative research and vertical cohort studies. Human beings are social creatures that require the companionship of others to make progress in life. Thus, being socially connected with other people can relieve stress, anxiety, and sadness, but lack of social connection can pose serious risks to mental health [ 1 ].

Social media has recently become part of people's daily activities; many of them spend hours each day on Messenger, Research papers on media, Facebook, and other popular social media. Moreover, research papers on media, the number of social media users worldwide in is 3. A statistic in Figure 1 shows the gender distribution of social media audiences worldwide as of Januarysorted research papers on media platform.

In contrast, females were more likely to use LinkedIn and Facebook. There is no denying that social media has now become an important part of many people's lives. Social media has many positive and enjoyable benefits, research papers on media, but it can also lead to mental health problems. Previous research found that age did not have an effect but gender did; females were much more likely to experience mental health than males [ 67 ].

Mental health is defined as a state of well-being in which people understand their abilities, solve everyday life problems, work well, and make a significant contribution to the lives of their communities [ 8 ].

There is debated presently going on regarding the benefits and negative impacts of social media on mental health [ 910 ]. Social networking is a crucial element in protecting our mental health. Both research papers on media quantity and quality of social relationships affect mental health, health behavior, physical health, and mortality risk [ 9 ]. The Displaced Behavior Theory may help explain why social media shows a connection with mental health.

According to the theory, people who spend more time in sedentary behaviors such as social media use have less time for face-to-face social interaction, both of which have been proven to be protective against mental disorders [ 1112 ]. On the other hand, social theories found how social media use affects mental health by influencing how people view, maintain, research papers on media, and interact with their social network [ 13 ].

A number of studies have been conducted on the impacts of social media, and it has been indicated that the prolonged use of social media platforms such as Facebook may be related to negative signs and symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress [ 10 - 15 ]. Furthermore, social media can create a lot of pressure to create the stereotype that others want to see and also being as popular as others.

Systematic studies can quantitatively and qualitatively identify, aggregate, and evaluate all accessible data to generate a warm and accurate response to the research questions involved [ 4 ]. In addition, many existing systematic studies related to mental health studies have been conducted worldwide. However, only a limited number of studies are integrated with social media and conducted in the context of social science because the available literature heavily research papers on media on medical science [ 6 ].

Because social media is a relatively new phenomenon, the potential links between their use and mental health have not been widely investigated. Research papers on media paper attempt to systematically review all the relevant literature with the aim of filling the gap by examining social media impact on mental health, which is sedentary behavior, which, if in excess, raises the risk of health problems [ 7912 ].

This study is important because it provides information on the extent of the focus of peer review literature, which can assist the researchers in delivering a prospect with the aim of understanding the future attention related to climate change strategies that require scholarly attention.

This study is very useful because it provides information on the extent to which peer review literature can assist researchers in presenting prospects with a view to understanding future concerns related to mental health strategies that require scientific attention. The development of the current systematic review is based on the main research question: how does social media affect mental health?

The research was conducted to identify studies analyzing the role of social media on mental health. Google Scholar was used as our main database to find the relevant articles. Out of the results in Table 1a total of 50 articles relevant to the research question were selected. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, duplicate papers were removed, and, research papers on media, finally, a total of 28 articles were selected for review Figure 2.

Peer-reviewed, full-text research papers from the past five years were included in the review. All selected articles were in English language and any non-peer-reviewed and duplicate papers were excluded from finally selected articles. Of the 16 selected research papers, there were a research focus on adults, gender, and preadolescents [ 10 - 19 ].

In the design, there were qualitative and quantitative studies [ 1516 ]. There were three systematic reviews and one thematic analysis that explored the better or worse of using social media among adolescents [ 20 - 23 ].

In addition, eight were cross-sectional studies and only three were longitudinal studies [ 24 - 29 ]. The meta-analyses included studies published beyond the last five years in this population.

Table 2 presents a selection of studies from the review. This study has attempted to systematically analyze the existing literature on the effect of social media use on mental health. Although the results of the study were not completely consistent, this review found a general association between social media use and mental health issues.

Although there is positive evidence for a link between social media and mental health, the opposite has been reported. Similarly, Neira and Barber found that while higher investment in social media e. In the 16 studies, anxiety and depression were the most commonly measured outcome. Some teens experience anxiety research papers on media social media related to fear of loss, which causes teens to try to respond and check all research papers on media friends' messages and messages on a regular basis. On the contrary, depression is one of the unintended significances of unnecessary use of social media.

In detail, depression is limited not only to Facebooks but also to other social networking sites, which causes psychological problems. A new study found that individuals who are involved in social media, games, texts, mobile phones, etc.

are more likely to experience depression. The other social media influence that causes depression is sexual fun [ 12 ]. The intimacy fun happens when social media promotes putting on a facade that highlights the fun and excitement but does not tell us much about where we are struggling in our daily lives at a deeper level [ 28 ].

Another study revealed that depression and time spent on Facebook by adolescents are positively correlated [ 22 ]. The limitations and suggestions were identified by the evidence involved in the study and review process.

Previously, 7 of the 16 studies were cross-sectional and slightly failed to determine the causal relationship between the variables of interest. Given the evidence from cross-sectional studies, it is not possible to conclude that the use of social networks causes mental research papers on media problems.

Only three longitudinal studies examined the causal relationship between social media and mental health, which is hard to examine if the mental health problem appeared more pronounced in those who use social media more compared with those who use it less or do not use at all [ 192024 ].

Next, despite the fact that the proposed relationship between social media and mental health is complex, research papers on media, a few studies investigated mediating factors that may contribute or exacerbate this relationship. Social media is a new study that is rapidly growing and gaining popularity. Thus, there are many unexplored and unexpected constructive answers associated with it.

The importance of such findings is to facilitate further research on social media and mental health. In addition, the information obtained from this study can be helpful not only to medical professionals but also to social science research.

The findings of this study suggest that potential causal factors from social media can be considered when cooperating with patients who have been diagnosed with anxiety or depression. Also, if the results research papers on media this study were used to explore more relationships with another construct, this could potentially enhance the findings to reduce anxiety and depression rates and prevent suicide rates from occurring, research papers on media.

Shakespeare, more than any other author, has instructed the West in the catastrophes of sexuality, and has invented the formula that the sexual becomes the erotic when crossed by the shadow of death.

There had to be one high song of the erotic by Shakespeare, one lyrical and tragi-comical paean celebrating an unmixed love and lamenting its inevitable literary analysis questions for romeo and juliet. Shakespeare was then 31 years old, married for 12 years and the father of three children. He had been acting and writing in London for five years. From that year through Shakespeare had also composed sonnets and two long narrative poems in the erotic tradition— Venus and Adonis and The Rape of Lucrece.

Both his dramatic and nondramatic writing show Shakespeare mastering Elizabethan literary conventions. With these three plays Shakespeare emerged from the shadows of his influences and initiated a period of unexcelled accomplishment. The two parts of Henry IV and Julius Caesar would follow, along with the romantic comedies The Merchant of Venice, As You Like It, and Twelfth Night and the great tragedies Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, Macbeth, literary analysis questions for romeo and juliet, and Antony and Cleopatra.

Romeo and Juliet is not only one of the greatest love stories in all literature, considering its stage history and the musicals, opera, music, ballet, literary works, and films that it has inspired; it is quite possibly the most popular play of all time.

There is simply no more famous pair of lovers than Romeo and Juliet, and their story has become an inescapable central myth in our understanding of romantic love.

Having relied on Senecan horror for his first tragedy, Titus Andronicus, Shakespeare located his next in the world of comedy and romance. Romeo and Juliet is set not in antiquity, as Elizabethan convention dictated for a tragic subject, but in 16th-century Verona, Italy. His tragic protagonists are neither royal nor noble, as Aristotle advised, but two teenagers caught up in the petty disputes of their families.

The plight of young lovers pitted against parental or societal opposition was the expected subject, since Roman times, of comedy, not tragedy. By showing not the eventual triumph but the death of the two young lovers Shakespeare violated comic conventions, while making a case that love and its consequences could be treated with an unprecedented tragic seriousness.

O, be some other name! That which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet. Romeo, doff thy name; And for that name, which is no part of thee, Take all myself. In a beautifully modulated scene the lovers freely admit their passion and exchange vows of love that become a marriage proposal.

Romeo accordingly refuses his challenge, literary analysis questions for romeo and juliet, but it is answered by Mercutio. Romeo tries to separate the two, but in the process Mercutio is mortally wounded. This is the tragic turn of the play as Romeo, enraged, rejects the principle of love forged with Juliet for the claims of reputation, literary analysis questions for romeo and juliet, the demand for vengeance, and an identifi cation of masculinity with violent retribution:.

O, here Will I set up my everlasting rest And shake the yoke of inauspicious stars From this world-wearied flesh.

Juliet awakes to see Romeo dead beside her. Montagues, Capulets, and the Prince arrive, and the Friar explains what has happened and why. The Prince provides the final eulogy:.
