In addition, eight were cross-sectional studies and only three were longitudinal studies [ 24 - 29 ]. The meta-analyses included studies published beyond the last five years in this population.

Table 2 presents a selection of studies from the review. This study has attempted to systematically analyze the existing literature on the effect of social media use on mental health.
